"local indigenous dance" Cartagena Things to Do Tip by crazyman2

Cartagena Things to Do: 265 reviews and 672 photos

One of the rooms off of the Naval Museum is a long room with a rickety wooden stage at one end.
The troop of dancers were great fun. They were dressed in colourful outfits and there was a group of supporting musicians who were having lots of fun.
The dancers worked hard. There was a hat for donations placed in front of them ---and this should include danger money because the planks that made the stage were moving up and down as the dancers increased their pace. Stubbed toes/turned ankles or what!
Don't expect the Royal Ballet or Merce Cunningham! This is a vibrant folkloric dance display.
Have fun!
