"cards, books and sun cream." Greece Packing List Tip by smithy65
Greece What to Pack: 69 reviews and 35 photos
Luggage and bags: a small cool bag would be useful if you are out walking. we froze some bottled water and within minutes it had melted and was warm.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: sandles for the beach would be a good idea as they are nearly all pebbles and shingle and are difficult to walk on.
apart from that the sun is so hot it burns the soles of your feet and
on more than one occasion i saw a few of the stray cats using the shingle as a litter tray.
a hat is a must have.. the sun is very strong, especially when you are in the sea and feeling cool.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: make sure you have the basic first aid kit with you. a lot of the small villages do not have a pharmacy and only basic meds are available from the small shops if open. sun cream essential especially on children when playing in sea as often burn is not apparent till later.
if you are on medication always take a copy of your prescription so that they can check what you require should you lose them or need more as they are often known by alternate names in other countries. if you are from uk make sure you send for your european health card prior to travel. these entitle you to emergency treatment only. always take out adequate travel insurance though as these cards do not cover things like repatriation should you require it under any circumstance.
Photo Equipment: do not take photographs near any army bases as they could seize your camera if they want to.
Miscellaneous: if you are in one of the smaller villages and can't get about make sure you have plenty books and games to pass the time or you could end up pulling your hair out within days... i know i was. i took 4 thickish books with me and had to buy a 5th whilst i was there.
