"public transport nightmare" Greece Transportation Tip by smithy65

Greece Transportation: 232 reviews and 175 photos

prices are reasonable for trips although do not expect a reliable timetable.
if you go to stay in haraki there are only two buses a day to rhodes town. 8.50 and 9.50 from haraki. returning from rhodes town at 3.30
that is it, no more.
one bus to lindos 10.45 returning 3.00
you need to hire a car to really see rhodes.
taxis can be expensive. hardly any in the smaller towns and villages.
you can get one from haraki but it has to come from lindos and they charge you 16 euros before you even get in it.
the driver may pick up other people on the way without consulting you.
you would expect this to reduce your cost as you are sharing... ha no such luck each passanger pays for their part of the journey, so beware.
always confirm price first as all the taxi scams are out there.
