"Strandhill" Top 5 Page for this destination County Sligo Tip by Goner
County Sligo, Ireland: 5 reviews and 17 photos
Strandhillwas a great surprise, actually I'd never heard of it, but the surfers have. This pretty little ocean town is host to surfers around the world I'm told. I didn't see many surfing the day we visited there, the wind was blowing a gale and it was a cold April day. Not much surf either.
The little town looks touristy in a subtle way with a large inviting beach. Strandhill isn't on any tour, the driver we hired in Sligo made a stop here because it is a lovely spot in the western part of Ireland situated 5 miles (8km) west of Sligo nestled between Knocknarea Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.
For the surfers, I've listed the surf cam website below.
Address: East from Sligo on R292
Directions: Sligo Harbor
