Bar Mut: "Vermouth?" Barcelona Restaurant Tip by MM212

Barcelona Restaurants: 1,216 reviews and 1,162 photos

This unpretentious looking small tapas bar serves sophisticated tapas and local Barcelona dishes. The menu includes many daily specials and combines traditional recipes with some innovation, all served with style. The wine list is high end with the bottles displayed on the walls. I asked the casual waiter what "Bar Mut" meant and he said it was a play on words referring to Vermouth, which in Spanish is pronounced "bermut". Bar Mut is located close to the upper end of Passeig de Grácia, actually at the intersection of Pau Claris and Diagonal, in the upper Eixample district. A great stop for lunch when making a tour of Modernista buildings in Eixample.
