"Hurricane" Weather Tip by csordila

While it’s slightly cheaper to visit during the spring and summer months, the weather is the most humid and torrential thunderstorms are frequent. Towards, late summer, there is always a chance of coming face to face with a hurricane. When the winds of a tropical storm reach 74 mph, then the storm is classified as a hurricane. The Atlantic hurricane season is officially from 1 June to 30 November.
Some tips if you decide to leave for a safer location to be there during the storm:
- Keep the gas tank filled in your vehicle.
- Be sure to have a road map with the evacuation routes clearly marked, so that you won’t spend valuable time and fuel in searching for the right way to go.
- Buy bottled water and ice.
- Get out of the area as early as you can, in daylight. Give yourself enough time to leave so that you can drive calmly and allow for traffic congestion; avoid putting yourself in a panic situation.
