I don't normally recommend tours, because I don't normally take them: I far prefer to wander around by myself.

But if you want to explore a bit of the area around Tallinn it's not so easy by public transport. It's good, but limited. So an organised tour is the way to go.

I took the day tour to Lahemaa National Park with Estadventures Andrew, who runs the operation, is an Australian now settled in Tallinn who runs several different types of tour.

The Lahemaa one included a visit to a Bronze age burial site, a tiny castle tower, the Viru bog (with a walk), Palmse manor and various small seaside villages.

I really enjoyed the day: it's a good way to see a bit more of the country in very pleasant company.
