The Green Parrot has been in operation since 1926 and is a bit of an institution in Wellington. Located near the corner of Taranaki and Cable streets the restaurant is rather basic with older formica tables and comfy old style seats. On arriving you are seated and then get some slices of bread with some knobs of butter delivered - rather weird in some ways but very old skool apparently. The menu has quite a bit to choose from but it's the T Bone steak you want to investigate here!! The service is quick and very friendly and the prices are pretty good. A must visit when in Wellington.

Favorite Dish: Priced at $37 the T Bone steak is not on the menu as a Giant T Bone like many other places but it is HUGE!! If you are a canivore this is the feed for you. Check out the photo for this tip and see just how big this beast is! Best eaten medium rare!
