A hippo on the Jungle Cruise
by dek516

Stepping into Adventureland is stepping into a leafy, jungle world. Perhaps because it is home to Disneyland's most popular ride, the Indiana Jones Adventure, Adventureland is perpetually crowded. Still, its exotic jungle theme make it one of the most appealing lands in the park, one certainly not to be missed:

Rides/attractions include:

--Indiana Jones Adventure: This ride is over 10 years old but is wildly popular (probably made moreso by the release of the most recent Indiana Jones movie). Visitors ride in rickety, fast-moving cars over an unsteady bridge, past poisoned darts, and away from the huge boulder from which Indiana Jones escapes in the original movie. Lines are terribly long; be sure to get there first thing in the morning or get a Fastpass, ensuring quick(er) entry.

--The Jungle Cruise: A Disney original, much in need of a rehaul. Guests are taken on river boats through the jungle, past hippos, elephants, tigers, and wild natives. The best part of the ride is the sarcastic commentary and stupid jokes provided by the river guides.

--The Tiki room: For a cool midday break, check out the Tiki Room show. Sit back and watch birds and flowers sing. The show at Disneyland is the original (much better than the horrible Disney World version featuring Iago from Aladdin). It is not on the must-do list.

Directions: At the end of Main Street, turn left and follow signs to Adventureland (south of Frontierland).
