"AROUND SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK at HOMEBUSH" Olympic Park Tip by AusPinay
Olympic Park, Sydney: 38 reviews and 63 photos
As Sydney celebrates its selection as venue for the 2008 World Youth Day, this park is a hub of activity for pilgrims attending the event and also for volunteers and locals.
But as a year round tourism spot, it has lots of scenic gardens, water features, and most of all venues for holding sports competitions , other sporting events arts and cultural shows and exhibits. Of course, it was constructed mainly for the 2000 Olympics which to date is still the most successful and well organised Olympics ever!
This year's WYD is hopefully no exception. The list of amenities at this awesom park is just endless! Tourists can take tours even of the huge ANZ (Australia and NEw Zealand Bank) Stadium, also there't ACER Arena, the numerous sports facilities, restaurants, cafes, etc.
It is near to the train station and there are always buses that stop here.
The most famous yearly event done here is the Easter Show which showcases the country's top agricultural, arts and cultural products and services.
Set aside a full day to enjoy this icon of SYdney's tourism attraction.
