  1850 GOLD RUSH ROCK CART
by travelgourmet

One of the best preserved tools of the trade in the 1850's Gold Country is a gold cart that sits in a small square on Broad Street, in Nevada City. Benches are in the square to sit and relax in the shade of the pine trees. One of the many items on display that came from the 1850's is a gold cart that travelled on iron tracks. At least, I am sure they wanted to call it a gold cart, but many a time, I presume, it was most likely just a rock cart.
