"Backpacking in Thailand" Thailand Favorite Tip by bulldogtwo

Favorite thing: I agree, backpack all the way. Even if you were staying in the city, wheels just don't work on the side walks. Also, think about scaling back on what you pack. You are going to a hot, tropical country, super light weight clothing is the way to go, that usually mean, Columbia nylon pants and shirt, men and ladies or any other brand. Blue jeans just don't cut it in the tropics.
You can also wash clothes on the road and it's really cheap in Thailand. You can get a weeks worth done for a few dollars.
As far as the pack is concerned, my advise is "don't go cheap", you get what you pay for. LL Bean has back packs that I have used and travelled with all over the world. They may, or may not, cost a couple dollars more but they are worth every penny. Should anything go wrong with your pack, in your life time, you'll get a full 100% refund, no questions asked, or another pack. They come in all sizes. The last thing you want is your pack falling apart or your zippers riping while you are on the road. These are great quality and last a long time.
Good luck and have FUN!
