Royal Oak - Laurier Street: "Pub Food - Popular Chain" Ottawa Restaurant Tip by yooperprof
Ottawa Restaurants: 244 reviews and 367 photos
I wanted to have Pub food - something to stick to my ribs - and I found it at one the Royal Oak pubs. They are a chain (ten) of popular British-style taverns scattered across Ottawa. They do seem to get the feeling and flavor of the corner pub pretty accurately - even down to the fruit machines. Good selection of beers - some local, some British - and (unfortunately) some bad United States beers as well. (I'm thinking of one peculiarly bland brew from Colorado. . . ) Oh - and I felt I could have been back in Norfolk with my Shepherd's Pie and Mash.
