"Old Town" Rodos (City) Things to Do Tip by Snipernurse

Rodos (City) Things to Do: 236 reviews and 542 photos

Rhodes was the home of one of the major castles of the Knights of St. John who were active during the crusades. The city is absolutely great to explore. It is huge and atmospheric. I found it quite ironic to find a couple of old mosques inside the city built by crusading christians. Quieter during the day, and without so much of the touristy feel which explodes at night, when all the shops open up and the resteraunts fill. Really a great atmosphere and a lot of fun. Plan on using the better part of a whole day around the ruins. Remember, that at the port of the ancient town of Rhodes once stood one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Colossus of Rhodes.
