"Structure 8: True Beauty and Eloquence" Becan Things to Do Tip by wilocrek
Becan Things to Do: 9 reviews and 29 photos
The two best words I can think of to describe Structure 8 is simply beauty and eloquence. I have visited the majority of the ruins in the Yucatan and have to say that the crumbling magesty of this once grand building still manages to inspire awe. With its two towers and the platform in between it looks like a grand terrace built specifically to take in views of the vibrant jungle that surrounds the ruins. Structure 8 is a basic element in the east and west orientation of Becan's city layout. What serves as a platform between the two towers was once rooms that were used as living quarters. This structure alone is worth the trek to visit Becan. Hopefully the magic of this once magnificent building will capture you as well as it did me.
