This is a beautiful replica of "The Arc de Triomphe" even though it is at two-thirds scale of the original monument dedicated to the soldiers who fought in the Battle of Austerlitz, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I, and inside the walls of the monument lists the names of 558 French generals who died in battle. The names and dates of Napoleon's victories are inscribed on the replica too. The sculptures of the friezes, figures and bas-reliefs are the signature works of James Pradier, Antoine Etex, Jean-Pierre Cortot and rancois Rude: La Marseillaise. The original Arc de Triomphe Paris France, stands 49.5 m (162 ft) tall, 45 m (150 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep. The vault is 29.19 m (95.8 ft) high and 14.62 m (48.0 ft) wide. The smaller vault is 18.68 m (61.3 ft) high and 8.44 m (27.7 ft) wide. This Arc de Triomphe can be seen 24 hours per day right from the Las Vegas Strip. There is even a celebration on Bastille Day (July 14th). Sadly the water fountain has been replaced with a flower bed since the city is trying to conserve their water.
BE AWARE, this structureas stands in the middle of the check-in circle for the Paris Las Vegas Hotel-Casino. There is plenty of area to walk around this lovely piece of art, but be careful!!
