After a full day of sightseeing (and walking a lot) we were all tired and ready to return to the hotel but needed some nourishment as well. We decided to just check out some of the places in our hotel area near the Baker Street tube stop. When the kids spotted the Pizza Express
just across the street from the station we decided to stop in. What a great choice! First of all the man who greeted us didn't bllink at our group of 10 but quickly moved tables and chairs to accommodate our party. A little research tells me that this is a large chain in the UK (300+) restaurants but they pride themselves on the freshness and quality of their food. This building was formerly a bank and its high ceiling along with nice period features gives it an comfortable ambience. There is also a large basement room as well as a terrace for outdoor dining.

Favorite Dish: Since I did not do the ordering I don't know the names of the pizzas we ate, but they were all delicious. They have an open kitchen so you can see your food being freshly prepared. Prices seem fairly reasonable for London: pizzas for 6-10 GBP, a nice bottle of Chianti was about 15
GBP, most starters are less than 2 GBP and desserts less than 5 GBP. I will go back next time I am in London.
