located near the jewish quarter is the church of st. james. this baroque church was originally the gothic presbytery of a minorite monastery. the most interesting and bizarre aspect of this church is the mummified arm hanging on the right entrance. 400 years ago a thief tried to steal the jewels from the madonna on the high altar. the statue of the virgin grabbed his arm and held it so tightly that it had to be cut off. the arm has been on display in the church ever since.

Address: mala studartska
