"A great journey for those who love to walk" Philosophenweg Tip by Husker_Jeff
Philosophenweg, Heidelberg: 21 reviews and 33 photos
We decided to walk the Philosophonweg and also up the Heiligenberg to see the klosters and the Thingstaette (see other tips).
Be warned, on a warm sunny day the initial rise will make you sweat. But the views on this walk are absolutely worth the effort. There are also many places to rest along the way.
Beautiful gardens are found along the way: Eichendorff, Liselotte, Hoelderlin
We veered towards the upper walkway and went to the top before coming back down to the lower walkway and then finally down towards Hirschgasse.
Directions: Cross the Theodor Heuss Bridge over to the north side of the Neckar. Take the second road on the right (look for the signs). The first part of the walk is along a road, so look out for vehicles and bikes.
