"Pretty Poor - avoid!" Sunwapta Falls Resort Tip by mumpy73

Sunwapta Falls Resort, Jasper: 583 reviews and 0 photos

This "resort" is 50km the other side of jasper towards Calgary. Basically it's portakabins split into four rooms in each, and with a bit of fancy wood tagged on the outside. We got there after a long drive at 21:30 and checked in. All the bumf says the place being world class this, and world class that but it's just a 2* gig at 4* prices. Rooms look very lived in, and they are noisey as your adjacent to other people as the portakabins are split into four.

The main thing to beware is in the evenings thjey just offer "wolrd class" dining which is in fact a fancy a la carte menu cheapest meal without wine but with starters would knock you back $75 / head. After a long day travelling all we wanted was a great cheap burger but this is not an option, and also not ideal for kids in that respect.

If you want basic at expensive prices then it's fine, but there are much better places in Jasper itself. Lastly, nearest other place is around 50 km away, so you can't just pop somewhere else to eat.
