Rainbow Chinese Restaurant and Bar: "Best on "Eat Street"" Top 5 Page for this destination Minneapolis Restaurant Tip by goodfish

This is, hands down, my favorite Chinese eatery and beloved of Twin Citizens since 1987. Rainbow is located smack-dab in the middle of a section of South Nicollet Ave. nicknamed Eat Street for its plethora of good ethnic restaurants. No faded paper lanterns, gilded dragons or other tacky Asian decor here, Rainbow exudes a peaceful, slightly sophisticated vibe that's reflected in the menu. It's also a little more expensive than average Chinese cuisine but soooo worth it - the food is amazing. Full bar and free off-street parking.
My pictures were taken late afternoon - the place is usually packed in the evenings!
Favorite Dish: Honey Walnut Shrimp - lightly battered shrimp tossed with a slightly lemon-y rice cream sauce and topped with honey glazed walnuts.
Unique and heavenly! About $15. Other entrees run around $11 and up.
Address: 2739 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis
