NAZIS. The word is enough to make your blood turn cold. The Nazi Party rose to power in 1930?s Germany with the stated purpose of bringing the country down and taking complete dictatorial control. The Weimar Republic was weak and the Nazis got their wish. After Word War II the Bundesverfassungsgericht or Federal Constitutional Court was built here in Karlsruhe to enforce the German ?Basic Law? which protects Democracy. Political groups pledging themselves to the overthrow of the country or related violence can be reported here. The court has the power to ban anarchist and dictators so they can never rise to power in the future.
Shame about the horrible architecture, but it performs an invaluable duty to the people of Germany.
Directions: Bundesverfassungsgericht, Schloßbezirk 3, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. One block east of the main palace.
