"Location, location, location..." Hotel Axial Tip by Herkbert

We stayed four nights in Hotel Axial while we were in Florence. It is located on Via dei Calzaiuoli, the main street that links the Duomo to the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza Signori. It is just 150 meters away from the Duomo, and near many restaurants and shops.

The hotel is located on the first floor of a plain building with only the sign on the wall to let you know it is there. Inside however, the hotel is extremely pleasant. Walking through the door, you enter a small lobby where the reception desk is located. We were always greeted by friendly staff who were extremely helpful. Their suggestions for dinners were spot on, and they even helped with the reservations.

The rooms were a decent size, very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and showers were also spotless. There was a beverage center where you could get wine, water or other beverages, a small courtyard to sit and relax, and also a sitting room with two computers and free internet access.

Breakfast was included and was available in a pleasant dining room. The breakfasts were typical of what we have seen in Italy, juice, coffee, pastries, rolls and croissants, cereals, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. Plenty to get your day started.

We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a good, centrally located hotel in Florence.
