The triple arch was designed in 1911 as part of Webb?s scheme to rebuild the Mall as a grand processional route honoring Queen Victoria. The central gate is only open to royal processions, where regular traffic passes through the smaller side gates.

    Did you know that the Arch has been bought by a Spanish developer and will be converting the arch into a luxury hotel (800 pounds a night)---great for the parades that pass through there now and again
