We stayed at Sol Timor Apartments for a week in July 2007 and loved the location of this hotel. It belongs to the Sol Melia chain of hotels, the same owners as own Sol Principito and has the same Flintstone's theme in the garden. We had a studio apartment on the second floor with a great view of the ocean and the beach. This hotel is very lively, with a big garden with a swimming pool and a lot of activities for the kids in the garden. There is a show in the restaurant area every night. There is a mini-market in the hotel which is a plus, and a souvenir-shop, a hair-saloon, launderette and good Internet-connection in the lounge area.

In the basement there is a discotheque which attracted local teenagers which at the time we stayed there caused some problems in the hotel. All in all this was a really noisy hotel, drunken guests returning to their rooms late at night, fighting in the hallway every night, making our stay there a miserable one. Our studio apartment had a kitchenette and a bath-room which was really outdated but the furniture in the bed-room/living room was beautiful. As I hadn't joined VT at the time I didn't take any pictures of the room.

But the location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the marina of Benalmadena with its lively nightlife Benalmadena. You walk straight from the garden to the beach which is excellent and in some places you can walk far into the ocean as it is so shallow, making it a really fun place for kids and adults alike. The beach there is called Playa de Montemar.

There is a great night-life there, N-American-Indians were playing beautiful music every night outside Timor Sol hotel. Black men from Africa were selling fake purses on the street outside the hotel, the police constantly on their tail. When they spotted the police they picked up their stuff and ran into the darkness on the beach, returning to sell their fake purses, belts, watches etc. as soon as the police was out of sight. Business was lively, a lot of purses were sold. The quality of these purses is poor though, even though they look good. They are often glued at the seams, I bought one and it immediately fell apart.

If I could move Sol Principito to this place then it would be perfect, and I have heard other people say the same. But I would stay there again only for the location.
