Pokrowskij-Monastery / Pokrowskij Monastyr / Mariä - Schutz - Kloster was built in 1364 and during communiste times the whole monastery was used as an Intourist-hotel. A few years ago the monastery was given back to the Russian Othodox Church and now there are nuns again there, but tourists are still welcome to take a look at the great buildings from outside. All buildings will be closed except for a small museum, but you can walk through the monastery-park and take some photographs, BUT it is forbidden to take pics of the nuns !
