"Devrent Valley" Zelve Off The Beaten Path Tip by acemj

The nearby Devrent Valley is another great place to explore the valleys of Cappadocia. It's located just few kilometers east of Zelve back on the main road that connects Urgup and Avanos. We stopped here at a point in the road with sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding area and it was fun to climb down the rocks (through some very tight spots as you'll see in the photos) and just explore. It's like a jungle gym or playground for adults and the rock formations are amazing, which has led to its other name, The Valley of the Fairy Chimneys. Here you'll see very densely packed groups of conical rock formations, some of which are mini-mountains, some just slivers.
