Portofino's: "Best Itallian Outside of U.S." Rosarito Restaurant Tip by jperson63

Rosarito Restaurants: 27 reviews and 38 photos

This was the best Italian Restaurant in the heart of Rosarito's Juarez strip. It is upscale and also somewhat pricey, but the food has always been a treat. The service is excellent and very friendly. It is located on the second floor, therefore not readily available for viewing from the street. The advantage of this is getting away from the crowds for a relaxing ambience. It has a full bar in the back, separate from the restaurant and most tables overlook the boulevard.

Favorite Dish: Carne Toscana has to be the tops at this place. The menu is a little large for my taste and although my wife has tasted a great variety of their dishes, I pretty much have stuck with this dish. A spicy sausage wrapped in thin layers of spinach and tenderloin, with a delicious mushroom sauce and a vegetable medley side. The bread is great and along with a nice glass of Cabernet, you will find this dish satisfying and filling.
