British Museum is one of the free museums in London and one of the best history museums in Europe. A vast part of the museum is dedicated to Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece. Then the others: Americas, India, Asia and Middle East. Beside those permanent exhibitions there are changing exhibitions - you can check what's on trough the excellent website of the museum.

Like all major museums British Museum requires several visits to cover all sections. My advice is to check on the website what are you interested in and then go straight to see your top 10 inside.

Address: Great Russell Street, WC1
Directions: West and above of the New Oxford Street, you can get off at Tottenham Court Road or or Holborn (both on Central line) or at Russell Square (Piccadilly line) then look out for the signs to the museum
