"Po Lin Buddha" Lantau Island Tip by klj&a

Lantau Island, Hong Kong: 231 reviews and 596 photos

Very impressive. I went very early to avoid the crowd on a Saturday. The cable car(Ngong Ping 360) to the Po Lin Buddha officially opens at 10:00am, but the day I went, they actually let people on earlier about 9:40. Very easy to get there from the city. Just take the Tung Chung MTR. The end of this line is directly at the entrance of the cable car to the Po Lin Buddha. The trip from Hong Kong on the MTR was about 25 minutes and the cable car ride was about 30 minutes. At the top there is a little village with gift shops and cafes. Once at the Buddha, you have to walk 268 steps to get to it.
