To try the regional wines, I recommend the "Weinhaus Horn" at the upper end of Mainz' old city. As it is located in a pedestrian area, you can sit outside, watch the people walk by and relax. If you can't choose for yourself from the huge winemenue, just ask the owner of the place or the lady behind the winebar for wines they recommend.

Favorite Dish: All the wines!

I once tried a red one called "Domina". At first I was quite frightened - but it tasted just lovely ;-)

Address: Augustinerstraße 27, 55116 Mainz
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: Northern end of the old city. If you want to go there by bus, either take the stop south of it ("Höfchen/Listmann") and walk in the direction to the dome or north of it ("Stadtpark" or "Römisches Theater/CineStar") and walk from there to the old city.
