Vietnamese cuisine, PHO: "Vegetarians!" Beijing Restaurant Tip by Chrissy76

Beijing Restaurants: 709 reviews and 938 photos

I found it hard to find restaurants, where to eat as a vegetarian. Even I had a paper written in Chinese, that said I don't want any meat or fish, I still got f.e chicken. Then I found this Vietnamese restaurant. It's located (at least now, April 2008) on a street called Gulou Dongdajie 200 - only few hundred meters from the Drum tower. The staff didn't speak any English, but they had menu in English. And, they had vegetarian food: soup, noodles with vegetables, spring rolls, salads. Of course they have also fish and meat. The price was 8-20 yuan per dish. Noodle soup (vegetarian) was 13 yuan and you got A LOT of it, maybe 1 litre. The place is small and clean and the food was tasty. I can highly recommend.

Address: Gulou Dongdajie 200
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: 300-400 metres from the Drum Tower to east
Price: less than US$10
Rating: 4
Theme: Vegan/Vegetarian
