Georgenkirche is the main church of Eisenach and it dates back to the year 1180. In 1525 it was destroyed and rebuilt again in Renaissance-style in 1560. In March 23rd, 1685 Johann Sebastian Bach was baptized in this church and I think it makes sense to take a look inside in order to see its special architecture.

Georgenkirche is open for visitors
Monday - Saturday : 10.00a.m.-12.30 + 02.00 - 05.00p.m.
Sundays : 11.30a.m.-12.30 + 02.00 - 05.00p.m.
Photography only without flash !!
during the times in-between you may look through the large window in the back of the church and may get at least a bit an idea of the great architecture !

Directions: You will find Georgenkirche at the main-square of Eisenach, in the very centre of town !
