The hotel was booked via the internet and we couldn't anticipate what exactly we were getting, except that it looked and sounded architecturally interesting.

On arrival, late in the evening, we loved the location of hotel in the square, gently up lighted, and we could park nearby. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, we were not expecting to hear English spoken, but they spoke 5 languages.

Our bedroom was spacious with an ensuite bathroom & the usual free toiletries, the bed was comfortable and warm. The next morning we discovered the views overlooking the square were delightful. We liked it all so much we visited again on our return journey from the French Pyrenees, and again the following spring.

The only draw back is the restaurant of an evening, the food may or may not be good, but the over-lit interior made us think of fast food and there wasnt a soul in there, and the cold ambiance let it down, so we didnt want to try it. The few restaurants nearby all looked much more cosy and welcoming.

Unique Qualities: Only 16 bedrooms in this lovely building overlooking St Pere square, parking facilities nearby.

Breakfast was a feast: plentiful and an array of local specialties which changes with the seasons.
