"Transport from London City airport" Airports (travel to and from) Tip by johnka

Airports (travel to and from), London: 190 reviews and 128 photos

London City airport is an underused gem with excellent tranport links to the City and onwards via uUnderground links.

People don't realise how heavily subsidised London Transport is (by th rest of the UK). An all day ticket on Docklands light Railway and London Underground costs only 5.90 and under-11s are free. This allows movement throughout the area for the whole day from 0930.
There is a train every ten minutes (approx) to Tower Gateway a couple of minutes walk from Tower Hill on District and Circle Lines. If you want to go to Bank for Monument change at Canning Town waiting 2 minutes on the same platform for the next train.

A morning trip from LCR ro natural History Museum at south Kensington took less tham an hour includoing the walk at either end.

Type: Train
