Another option on the famous 'Museum Mile' along East Central Park, this one is affiliated with the Smithsonion Museums and it focuses on historic and contemporary design. It has over 250,000 objects in its collection, housed in a mansion build for Andrew Carnegie in 1903.
Admission is $15 adults, $10 children and free on Fridays from 5 to 9 pm.
