just make sure that the burger is cooked! I used to not like In-and-Out strictly because the burger was too raw in parts, tending to look a little pink. Much time later since, burger has been served fully cooked and I have craved for In-and-Out. I'm a good girl and get a single hamburger without the indulgence of cheese instead of the double-double.

Often when people think of California, they think of In-and-out. You really have not had the California experience without stopping and indulging at the drive-thru. By far, the state has the most restaurant locations. The chain was first linked in southern California. The original location is in Baldwin Park, about 10 miles south east of Los Angeles. Almost all of the locations are drive-thru, though the location in Glendale, California is a restaurant within a building, near the Galleria mall (pictured).

An interesting note about In-and-Out is the so-called "secret menu". Well, let's reveal or let the cow (instead of cat) out of the bag here:

If you want to act like you are in the know about In-and_out, ask for:

a burger "animal style": seems a bit kinky but this just means a burger with everything, not holding back on the mayo, adding a pickle, ketchup, mustard and all

3 X 3" : having three burger patties and slices of American cheese

4 X 4 : having four patties and cheese slices (OK, you really don't care about healthy at this point)

Protein Syle: burger wrapped with lettuce, without the bun. So not fun!

Grilled Cheese: Burger without teh burger. Having cheese slice, with choice of lettuce, tomato and onions included. Oh, we can't leave out the vegetarians in California!

Have some french fries and either a soda or shake. With the burger included, all this is true Americana fast food heaven. In-and_out's menu has and is likely to stay with these classic items. No big fuss over chicken fingers, mozarella sticks, raspberry ice tea or sushi as a side.

Don't let the name fool you. You will mostly likely not be in-and-out of a location. Expect a long line of hungry folks in cars and by the order stand throughout the day.

Favorite Dish: hamburger--- simple and good. Have the bun toasted and with grilled onions for great flavor.
