An aerial view of Paris is obtainable from several places with different eases of access: the Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse "skyscraper", the viewing platform on top of the Galleries Lafayette and the platform on top of the Arc. There is an elevator (fee) and usually a short line. There is also a small museum on the history of the Arch on the floor below the platform. The lines are usually short. Here we are in a crowd because a sudden rain and electrical storm had just rolled in and we had to wait 20 minutes under the Arch, protected from the rain until it was safe and we were permitted to ascend. There is plenty of running room on the platform and with the help of an adult most children can find all of the sites that they know.
