Biosphare, Potsdam: 2 reviews and 6 photos

I decided to give the Potsdam Biosphere a visit. I was expecting it to be basically a large hothouse but it has a slight Disney feel to it with an introduction in German, spooky lift, waterfalls, pirate ship, some animals and a submairne. There are some flowers but it is mainly shrubs though there an elevated walkway to look down on the plants. There is some information in English about saving the planet. Given the choice between the Botanical Gardens in Berlin and the Biosphere, the Botanical Gardens wins hands down but if you have children or the weather is inclement the Biosphere may be a better choice. It costs 9.50euros to enter the Biosphere but if you are 60 or over and go on a Monday free coffee and cake is included in the admission price.

Address: Biosphäre Potsdam GmbH, Georg-Hermann-Allee 99
Directions: Take tram line 96 from the Main Railway Station(direction Bornstedter field Viereckremise) and get off at Buga Park. The tram stop is directly in front of the biosphere. Its about 4/5 kms from the station so don't walk.
