St. Paul's Cathedral, London: 289 reviews and 570 photos
This magnificent piece of architecture was designed by Christopher Wren, well this fourth version of the Cathedral was. It was originally built in 604AD. Wren designed this latest version after the Great Fire.
Nelson, Churchill and Wellington had their funerals here, Charles and Di were married here and the organ that Mandelsohn once played is still in use.
The whispering gallery of course is a source of amusement for both young and old alike but to reach the gallery be prepared for a few hundred steps and a little claustrophobia. The paintings on the ceilings and walls make the climb worth it, however, the view over London was a rather disappointing one, unless you are into the study of cranes.
