Completed in 1590 AD, as-Sinaniya Mosque was named after the Ottoman governor of Damascus, Sinan Pasha. The mosque's distinctive minaret is built with blue-green bricks, which is an interesting contrast to the black and white stripes of the fašade of the mosque. The entrance is topped with a lofty muqarnas arch carved in pink stone above beautiful blue Iznik tiles. This Mosque is located just south of western end of Via Recta (Straight Street).
