Best place I?ve stayed for years. It is a genuine castle converted into a high quality hotel, done stylishly and in great taste throughout.

Rooms good sized and very comfortable. Only ?125 per night for the room for 2, during the week. An absolute bargain. Breakfast was not included and it was pricey (?38 for 2) but it was excellent.

Public areas are wonderful too. We had lunch in the lounge one day, and dinner in the restaurant another (see eating tips), so the food is top rate all round. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Its 3km from the city centre, but ?1.50 on the bus gets you there in no time. Its also very handy (15 minutes drive) for the airport.

Unique Qualities: Well, its a castle!
