"Taxi from airport" Phnom Penh Transportation Tip by balhannah

Phnom Penh Transportation: 154 reviews and 219 photos

At the Airport I was able to buy a coupon for a Taxi to take me to my Hotel in the city.
Taxis are the fastest, safest way to get from the airport into Phnom Penh and most of the drivers speak English.
After leaving the arrivals hall walk to the curb where a line of official taxis will be waiting.

The correct fee in 2015 for a taxi into Phnom Penh is $9 or $12 depending on which area of town you are headed to.
A taxi to Wat Phnom or the Riverside will cost $9 whilst nearly everywhere else is $12.
Be aware of this as they may try and sell you a $12 ticket, so if you are going to the Riverside say $9 and ask for the yellow ticket.

They will give you a ticket that says the price before you get into the taxi.
There is no extra fee for additional passengers or baggage.
You do not need to tip, but if the driver helps with luggage, I didn't mind giving a small tip.

The trip takes between 25 and 50 minutes depending on traffic.
