This is the perfect place to rest your feet, watch the passersby, and enjoy a cup of chicory roasted coffee and an order of beignets- the ones that have half a sack of powdered sugar poured on top of them. The cafe only closes on Christmas day and whenever a hurricane strikes.
During the heaviest tourist season it can take a while to find a table. You just have to stand, watch for a group preparing to leave, and swoop down on it. Early mornings and later in the evenings the crowd tends to thin out.
