"Why not combine transportation..." Bergen Transportation Tip by sigmaend

Bergen Transportation: 68 reviews and 68 photos

Why not combine transportation with scenery? Coming from Oslo, the train is ofcourse a nice trip. If you are a student, amke sure you go on the 'green' trains (in Norwegian: 'grønn avgang'). These give you a 60% discount! And there are plenty of these every day. If you plan to use the train alot whilst in Norway, and you are NOT a student: consider buying the 'Kundekort'. It's valid for 1 year, and costs about NOK 400. But it gives you 40% discount on train travel in Norway.

Coming from Stavanger or Haugesund the boat is a nice way to get to Bergen. Although the bus is getting increasingly convenient you don't see as much, and you can not walk around. Bear in mind it's at least 3 hours...
