Wat Mai Suvannaphumaham was build in 1821. Beautiful wooden Sim with a large golden buddha statue. The front varandah is remarkable for its decorated pillars. Also the beautifully decorated doors where you enter the wat are superb.
The Pha Bang comes here once a year during Bun Pi Mai celebrations in a procession from the royal palace.

Beautiful Wat (temple), the first one we visited in Luang Prabang, with a good atmosphere
We payed 20.00 kip (10.000 each, children were free)

Address: Th. Sissavangvobg
Directions: On Sisavangvong road near the Royal Palace and the market
othercontact: Open 8am-5pm
