Mech & I went on the hunt for Big Vern's following a friend's recommendation of it being an excellent seaside cafe, the road it is on is unfortunately rather long but after perserverance and the help of our bus driver we found this place and I can say you're in for a treat if you stop here.

I would say the restaurant is more cafe - surfer shack style serving burgers, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, pies and some very fat chips. They display and use local jersey pottery in their shop.

I can imagine Big Vern's would be rather packed in the summer months so its advisable to book and there is an al fresco area. The beach it backs onto is St Oeuns bay with its white sandy beaches a great place to walk off your big feed.

I had a double patty burger with cheese & bacon with a portion of fries big enough to share if I had to. Mech had a toastie with homade honey & orange glazed ham & cheese, both came with decent side salads.

Order at the bar, grap your order wooden spoon & wait for food to be brought to your table.
