"Beautiful Orthodox church near the waterfront" Uspenskin Katedraali (Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral) Tip by BillNJ

From the Market Square on the waterfront, you can see the beautiful Uspenski Orthodox Church perched atop a small hill. With my umbrella, I walked in the rain across a few streets and through a maze of sidewalks. Finally, I reached the church -- and I proceeded to walk completely around it. Even in the steady rain, I enjoyed seeing this marvelous building up close.

After seeing the outside, I decided to go inside and view the interior. The door was open -- and I soon discovered that I had walked in a side entrance across from the altar of the church in the middle of a wedding! I caught a glimpse of the young couple -- but, of course, I didn't stay to hear them exchange vows.
