Kosice's main landmark is the Gothic St. Elisbeth Cathedral (Dom Sv. Alzbety). It is not only the oldest building in Kosice, but also Slovakia's biggest church.

The medieval cathedral was constructed between 1378 and 1508, but since then underwent several restorations. In the late 19th century a crypt was built under the northern nave of the cathedral.

The interior of the cathedral is dominated by the imposing winged main altar of St. Elisabeth.

Directions:
St. Elisabeth Cathedral is situated in the middle of the Central Square (Hlavne namestie), just
right in the heart of Kosice's old town (Stare Mesto).
