"New Ferry Ambon - Saparua and back" Pulau Saparua Transportation Tip by ullfri49
Pulau Saparua Transportation: 9 reviews and 18 photos
The ferry to Pulau Saparua is much more comfortable as a speedboat and is starting in Haria harbour.
But there is (Mai 2012) some new to report:
The old ferry Matahari was quiet seen at the waves of quai in Tulehu.
The connection Haria- Tulehi p.p. seems now full replaced by the new ferry "Express Bahari"..
The new ferry seems 3 times greater- and has special numerated places-and a part real with cold AC --and real- up over the seats : Red Lifewests. (!)
By the way the ferry must have seen better days, but tidak apa apa- the velocity is full ok!
Better than speedboats! Special- a little place to walk around!
And some small traders will offer you some for eat and aqua and juice.
-->See the report of Dayhappyday.
The prices and times was in May 2012 the same like 2011:
Start from Haria 7 o`clock, terus dari Tulehu 9 o`clock. But on time from Tulehu only, if the Ambon Fuel transporter comes to the right time!
By the way: The refilling of fuel (Diesel) in pelabuhan Haria is traditional:
Mittschiffs per Schlauch! Be careful (For luck, it is not Benzin!!)
The ferry will take the southern or the northern route around Haruku, depending of seawind and weather, cause of the sometimes quite strong waves it is better to hold the ship in lee site, in the wind shadow of Pulau Haruku.
At bad weather usually some days no ferry will go - so be carful in time planning, better plan a time buffer in Pulau Ambon or Ambon town.
Special in " rain- time" (so about late Juni until August) it is said very strong waves at Banda sea and around pulau Lease so even the local fishery boats must stay home.
